Playing Sports in Puerto Rico

Water sports

If you are relocating to Puerto Rico, I assume you are a lucky person. The magic of Puerto Rican beaches and surrounding seas is highly appreciated worldwide. There are plenty of sea sports you can enjoy in this beautiful island, among them: motor boating, sailing, kayaking, diving, snorkeling, skying, fishing and many more.

Several marinas can be found around the island, the most beautiful ones in the east coast and in the south-west corner. The east coast offers the most exciting opportunities for your boating adventure, from there you can easily reach nice islands, including Saint Thomas, Saint John, Culebra, Vieques, and many others. The south-west is less attractive (still very beautiful), but the sea can be sailed all year long, while the east coast is only sailable in summer, thus in the selection of your marina you will have to choose between amazing attraction and year long amusement. Life has its constraints...

Scuba diving or snorkelling in these seas are one of the most wonderful experiencies you can imagine. There are plenty of coral reefs in Puerto Rico coasts and in the surrounding islands, specially in Culebra and Vieques. You will be amazed!!!

Golf in Puerto Rico

There are 22 active golf courses in the island, and some others are under construction. The good news is that you will find a wide range of excellent golf courses, many of them by the sea with amazing views and very funny attitude from your local buddies in the field. The bad news is that in general, they are not used to attach themselves to the strictness of golf rules. No doubt you will have fun with these guys!!!. Among the best golf courses in the island we can mention: Coco Beach (host to the PGA Tour Puerto Rico Open), Bahia Beach, Palmas del Mar and Rio Grande.

Other sports

Puerto Ricans are fans of football, baseball, basketball, boxing and lately soccer.
